Why is the egg tray in my egg cooker difficult to remove or fit?

If the egg tray feels stuck, sits crooked or will not click into place, the problem is usually residue, incorrect alignment or a damaged part. Make sure the appliance is completely cool before you try to refit or remove anything.

1. Unplug the egg cooker and let it cool fully. Expected result: the parts can be handled safely. If the tray is hot, do not force it.
2. Lift the tray out gently and inspect the edges, holder points and any locating tabs. Expected result: nothing is bent, cracked or warped. If it is damaged, stop using the cooker.
3. Clean away limescale, egg residue or dried water with a damp cloth. Expected result: the tray and base surfaces are clear. Dirt can prevent proper seating.
4. Refit the tray in the correct orientation and make sure it sits flat before adding eggs. Expected result: the tray drops into position without pressure.
5. Run one empty visual check, then a normal cycle. Expected result: the tray remains stable in use. If it still jams, rocks or will not fit securely, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.

Do not bend the tray, pry it free with tools or use the appliance if the tray cannot be positioned securely.
