Why does my decorative lamp wobble even when it is standing on a flat surface?

If a decorative lamp still feels unstable on a level surface, check the base, fitting and any detachable parts before using it again. A wobble can lead to tipping, strain on the cord or poor contact in the lamp holder.

Check the base and assembly

1. Switch the lamp off and unplug it.
2. Place it on a truly flat, stable surface and see whether the wobble remains.
3. Inspect the base, stem, shade and any glass or decorative parts to make sure everything is seated correctly.
4. Gently tighten any user-adjustable connections, but do not force anything.

If the wobble disappears on a flatter surface, the original location may have been uneven. If it stays unstable, the lamp may have a loose part or damaged base.
