Why does my air cooler need cleaning so often?

If your air cooler seems to need frequent cleaning, that usually means dust is building up quickly or the reservoir is being left damp between uses. If you see mould, corrosion, a persistent bad smell or any sign of water near electrical parts, stop using the appliance and contact the retailer where it was purchased.

1. Unplug the unit before cleaning and remove dust from the outside with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. Expected result: the casing should look cleaner without needing harsh chemicals.
2. Clean the filter regularly, and on a routine basis rather than waiting for performance to drop. Manuals advise regular filter cleaning, often around every two weeks depending on use. Expected result: the unit should stay cleaner and airflow should remain steadier.
3. Empty the reservoir when the appliance is not in use and rinse it with fresh water before the next fill. Expected result: stale residue should build up more slowly.
4. Keep the cooler away from dusty corners, loose textiles and direct floor debris where possible. Expected result: less dust should collect on the intake and filter.
