Why is my Aerofryer basket hard to insert or remove?

Modified on Mon, 24 Aug at 10:17 PM

A basket that feels stiff, sticks or will not slide smoothly is often caused by crumbs, heat, food residue or misalignment. Check for simple obstruction first, and stop using the appliance if the basket looks warped, damaged or no longer locks securely.

What to do

  1. Let the appliance cool completely before handling the basket.
  2. Remove the basket and inspect the runner area, latch and edges for crumbs or grease build-up.
  3. Clean the contact points gently with a soft cloth and warm soapy water if suitable, then dry thoroughly.
  4. Refit the basket carefully, making sure it sits straight and slides without forcing.

Expected result, the basket should move in and out smoothly and lock in place without excessive pressure. If the fit only improves when the drawer is held at a certain angle, the alignment may be incorrect or a part may be distorted.

When to stop using it

  1. Stop using the Aerofryer if the basket jams, drops suddenly or will not stay locked.
  2. Stop using it if the non-stick coating is flaking or the basket is visibly bent.
  3. Stop using it if you need to apply force to close the drawer.
  4. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.

Prevention tips

  • Clean the basket after oily foods.
  • Do not overload the basket.
  • Allow all parts to cool before reassembly.
