If your Wi-Fi water detector is working locally but not sending alerts, the issue is often with the network or app connection rather than the sensor itself. Treat this as important, because the detector may still need a reliable alert path.
Check the alert path
- Confirm the detector can still make a local alarm sound or indication. If it cannot, deal with the detector fault first.
- Check that the phone has a working internet connection and that the app is signed in as expected.
- Look at the detector position and signal strength. Weak Wi-Fi can interrupt notifications even when the detector seems to be online.
- Replace the battery if the detector shows signs of unstable operation. The FWA-18400 is supplied with a battery and the battery is replaceable.
- Run a fresh test after any network change and see whether an alert appears as expected.
What the result means
- Local alarm works but phone alert does not, the network or app path is likely the issue.
- Neither local alarm nor alerts work, the detector itself may be faulty.
- Alerts return after moving closer to the router, the original signal was too weak.
Stop using the detector if you cannot depend on it to alert you in the way you need, or if you are unsure whether the app is set up correctly. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
