How do I clean my sous vide stick safely after use?

Modified on Mon, 24 Aug at 4:07 PM

Cleaning should stay simple, dry and external only. This appliance is IPX7 waterproof, but you should still clean it carefully, avoid immersion beyond normal use and never allow water around the plug or socket area.

How to clean it

  1. Switch the unit off, unplug it and let it cool fully before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the outside with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry it immediately.
  3. Remove any limescale or residue around the water-contact area with a gentle cloth, taking care not to flood the display or controls.
  4. Clean the container separately with normal washing-up water and dry it before the next use.
  5. Check the cord, plug and housing after cleaning. If anything looks damaged or damp inside, do not reuse the product.

What the result means

If the appliance looks clean, dry and unchanged after wiping, normal maintenance is enough. If marks remain, or if cleaning reveals cracks, leakage or looseness, the product needs more careful inspection.

When to stop using it

Stop using the sous vide stick immediately if water enters the wrong area, if the cable or plug is wet, or if the housing appears damaged. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
