A blank or faint display usually points to a power issue, moisture on the screen, or a temporary control fault. Because this sous vide stick is waterproof to IPX7, a little splashing should not automatically cause damage, but any display that is unreadable after drying and restarting needs caution. If you cannot get a clear display back, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
Start with a safe reset
- Switch off the appliance and unplug it.
- Dry the exterior carefully with a soft cloth, including around the display area.
- Wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and check whether the screen returns to normal.
If the display comes back, the issue may have been temporary moisture or a loose power connection.
Check what the display is telling you
- Look for temperature figures, timer digits or readiness signals.
- Press the controls once, firmly, rather than repeatedly, and watch for a clear response.
- Confirm the appliance is stable in the pan and not being tugged by the cord.
If the display is partly visible but flickering, compare the brightness before and after reconnecting the plug. A screen that stays dim, cuts in and out, or only shows partial characters may indicate an internal fault.
When to stop using it
Stop using the sous vide stick if the display is blank together with no heat, if you notice condensation inside the screen area, or if any electrical smell is present. Do not continue to operate a unit with unreliable controls, because you may not be able to confirm the temperature or timer setting.
If the issue remains unresolved after drying and restarting, contact the retailer or store where you bought it and explain exactly what the display does and does not show.
