Why does my RGB solar light not change colour properly?

If an RGB solar light seems stuck on one colour or does not respond as expected, the battery may be low or the selected mode may need to be restarted. These lights can also appear to behave oddly after a poor charge or a long period in storage.

1. Let the light charge fully in direct sunlight, then test the colour change after dark. Expected result: a charged unit should show more stable colour behaviour.
2. Check the control method for your model. The Smartwares PD-3828 is listed with a touch sensor and no remote control, while the PD-3870 is listed with a remote control. Use only the control method supplied with the product.
3. If the product has an on/off switch, turn it off and on again once it has been fully charged. Expected result: the light should return to its normal operating mode.
4. Clean the diffuser and sensor area gently, then retest. Dirt or residue can make colours look dull or uneven. Expected result: the colour changes should be easier to see.

If the light will not change colour at all, or if the control area is damaged, wet or unusually hot, stop using it. Do not attempt to open the unit or repair the electronics. If the issue remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
