Why is my blender leaking from the jar or base?

If your blender is leaking, stop using it straight away and unplug it before moving it. Leaks can mean the jar, lid, blade base or sealing ring is not fitted correctly, or that a part is worn or damaged. Never use the appliance if liquid has reached the motor base or electrical parts.

1. Check that the jar or cup is not overfilled. Expected result: the contents should stay below the marked maximum fill level. If it was too full, reduce the amount and test again.
2. Remove and refit the lid, blade base and any sealing ring, making sure each part sits evenly and locks as designed. Expected result: the assembly should feel secure and no liquid should escape during a short test with water. If it still leaks, continue.
3. Inspect the seal for visible cracks, distortion or food trapped in the groove. Clean the parts carefully and dry them fully before reassembly. Expected result: a clean, undamaged seal should reduce or stop leakage.
4. Check the jar for chips, cracks or loose fittings. If any part is damaged, do not use the blender again. Expected result: damaged parts should be identified before further use.

If the blender still leaks, or if any liquid has reached the base, stop using it and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
