If the basket does not sit correctly, the handle, hooks or basket frame may not be positioned as intended. Several manuals refer to a basket with a detachable handle and a hook position for draining, so correct assembly matters for safe use.
- Unplug the fryer and let it cool before touching the basket. Expected result: you should be able to inspect the basket safely. If the basket is bent or damaged, stop using the fryer.
- Check that the handle is attached exactly as intended and that the basket is seated on its supports or hook. Expected result: the basket should rest securely without wobbling. If it does not, do not use the fryer.
- Confirm that no food debris or oil build-up is blocking the basket supports, hinge points or hanging hook. Expected result: a clean basket should fit more smoothly. If cleaning does not help, stop using the product.
- Test with an empty basket before adding food. Expected result: the basket should lower and lift freely. If it still slips, jams or drops unexpectedly, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
Do not continue using the fryer if the basket cannot be secured, because a sudden drop of hot oil or food can cause burns. Never force the basket or modify the handle mechanism.
