If your air conditioner starts, then stops again after a short time, the cause is often a safety response rather than a complete failure. Begin with the water tank, room temperature and airflow path, then watch whether the unit resumes normal operation once the condition is corrected.
Check the water tank and indicator
- Look for the water full indicator lamp.
- If it is lit or blinking, drain the collected water fully before restarting the unit.
- Make sure the tank or drain point is closed correctly afterwards.
If the unit still stops, move on to the temperature and airflow checks.
Review the room and settings
- Compare the room temperature with the set temperature.
- Lower the set temperature in cooling mode if the room is already close to the target.
- Check that the exhaust hose is connected and not blocked.
- Make sure the air inlet is not obstructed.
A unit that cannot release warm air properly may cycle off to protect itself. Similarly, if the room is already close to the chosen setting, the compressor may pause as part of normal operation.
