Why does my air conditioner seem to vibrate or rattle on the floor?

A light hum is normal for many portable air conditioners, but a strong rattle or vibration usually points to the placement rather than a fault. Check the base, the surrounding space and the hose before continuing to use the unit.

Check the installation surface

1. Make sure the unit is standing on a flat, level surface.
2. Move it away from loose flooring, furniture edges or items that can touch the cabinet.
3. Confirm the hose is fitted securely and is not pulling the unit sideways.

What the result means

If the noise reduces after re-positioning the appliance, the cause was likely uneven placement or contact with another object. The manuals note that noise can come from the unit not being level or from refrigerant flow inside the air conditioner.

Check for blocked or strained parts
