Why does my sous vide stick not switch on when I plug it in?

If your sous vide stick does not switch on, start with the basics: check the socket, power lead and whether the unit is receiving power at all. The appliance is mains powered, so do not use it if the cable, plug or body looks damaged, has been wet, or if safe use is uncertain.

1. Make sure the plug is fully inserted into a working wall socket. If possible, test the socket with another appliance. The expected result is that the socket works normally. If it does not, stop and use another socket.
2. Check that the power cord is not twisted, pinched or pulled tight. A loose connection or visible damage can interrupt power. The expected result is a secure, undamaged cord. If the cord or plug is damaged, stop using the product immediately.
3. Confirm that the appliance is dry and has not been exposed to water at the plug, cord or control area. The supplied product is IPX7 waterproof, but any sign of moisture around the mains connection still needs caution. If you suspect water has entered the electrical parts, stop using it.
4. Wait a few moments after plugging in and try the power control again, if your model has one. The expected result is that the display or heating starts. If nothing changes, do not keep forcing the controls.
5. If the unit still remains off, unplug it, let it cool if needed and do not continue to use it until the problem is understood. Contact the retailer or store where it was purchased for the next steps.

Do not open the housing or attempt any electrical repair. If the appliance has been dropped, soaked or shows intermittent power, stop using it straight away and seek advice from the retailer.
