Why is my hand blender leaking liquid from the shaft?

Liquid near the shaft or motor section is a warning sign, because water and electricity must not come into contact. If you see leakage, stop using the appliance immediately, unplug it and keep it dry until you have identified the source.

1. Unplug the appliance and wipe it dry. Check whether the liquid came from an overfilled measuring cup or from splashes during blending. If the outside was simply splashed, the appliance itself may still be dry.
2. Inspect the detachable stick and any joints for trapped liquid. Dry the parts fully before reassembly. If leakage does not return after careful drying, moisture in the coupling was the likely cause.
3. Check the measuring cup, lid or bowl for cracks or damage. If the container is cracked, liquid can travel towards the coupling or base. Stop using the damaged accessory and do not continue the test.
4. Use only the appliance in a dry environment and avoid immersing the motor unit or cord in water. If the leakage seems to come from inside the housing, do not open the product or attempt repair.
5. After the parts are fully dry, test with a small amount of food and watch closely. If moisture appears again, stop using the product straight away.

Do not use the hand blender if liquid enters the motor section, the cord or the plug area. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
