Why won't my hand blender stick detach?

If the detachable stick will not come away, it is usually because the locking connection has not been released correctly or residue is holding the parts together. Do not force the joint, and never twist against resistance if the appliance is still plugged in.

1. Unplug the appliance first. This is essential before assembling, disassembling or cleaning any of these hand blender models. If the plug is still in the socket, stop and remove it before continuing.
2. Check the release or twist direction shown in the manual for your model. Some manuals state that the stick is unlocked by twisting in the opposite direction to assembly. If the connection moves after following the correct direction, the parts were simply still locked.
3. Inspect the join for dried food. Clean around the coupling area with a slightly damp cloth and dry it fully. If the stick releases more easily afterwards, residue was creating friction.
4. Hold both the motor unit and the stick firmly and try again without jerking. If the connection still refuses to move, do not apply pliers, tools or extra force.
5. If the parts remain stuck, or if the joint looks damaged, stop using the blender. A damaged locking connection can make the appliance unsafe to handle.

Stop using the product if the release mechanism feels loose, cracked or jammed. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
