Where do I place my carbon monoxide alarm?

Intro Follow the steps to make sure that your CO detector has been placed correctly. Incorrect placement could lead to a suboptimal working of your CO alarm. This could lead to dangerous situations.
Step 1 Place your carbon monoxide alarm at least 185cm from any source of carbon monoxide. Known sources of CO are stoves, hearths and boilers.
Step 2 Make sure to place it around 150cm above the floor. *Never* place it up high near the ceiling. Carbon monoxide is heavier than air and has the tedency to sink down, unlike smoke that rises up due to heat.
