Why is my new smoke alarm not working?

Modified on Thu, 20 Aug at 3:57 PM

Activating smoke alarms

More often than not, smoke alarms come with batteries included. To ensure that this battery is not draining before the smoke alarm is put into operation, the smoke alarms are completely turned off in the beginning and therefore need to be activated.

To activate the smoke alarm, you need to hold the test button for a long time. Although the manual states five seconds, it may sometimes be necessary to hold it for longer. As soon as the LED lights up, immediately release the test button. You should hear a beep. The smoke alarm should now be properly activated.

Try pressing and holding the test button briefly to test the alarm. If there is no alarm ringing and no LED indicators are flashing, please contact our Customer Service team by filling in the service request form.
