Can I override the PIR for permanent light?

Modified on Tue, 1 Oct, 2024 at 2:59 PM

It is possible on some models to override the PIR to allow permanent light and return to PIR operation as required. For this function to be possible the product must have the Live Switch (LS) or Switch (S) terminal available. Always consult a qualified electrician before carrying out electrical work.

For products that are Class II and do not have an earth connection it will show 3 terminals:

L = Live

N = Neutral

LS / S = Live Switch / Switch

You need to add a switched live feed to the LS / S terminal. Then when the switch is turned on the PIR will be overridden. When the switch is off the PIR will operate as normal.
