If the cleaner feels hard to push, the floor head may be too low for the surface, the brush may be dirty, or airflow may be restricted. Switch it off and unplug it before you inspect the head. Do not force the cleaner across the floor if the brush is jammed or the machine overheats.
- Check the floor head for wrapped hair, fibres or compacted debris. Expected result: cleaning the head should make it easier to move.
- Confirm that the correct attachment or setting is being used for the floor type. Expected result: the cleaner should glide more naturally on the surface.
- Inspect the wheels and underside of the head for dirt buildup. Clear anything that is stopping smooth movement. Expected result: the vacuum should roll more freely.
- Empty the container or replace the bag and clean the filter if suction is also weak. Expected result: lower resistance often goes together with better airflow.
- If the cleaner still drags heavily or the head seems damaged, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
A cleaner that is unusually hard to push is often telling you that the head needs cleaning, the airflow is restricted or the attachment is not suited to the surface. Generic troubleshooting.
